Friendly gestures

I was so thrilled to walk into work on Wednesday to find flowers, and chocolate.

I love my friends, and I feel so lucky to have them!
I just love this arrangement.

To Many Plans

I am pretty bummed.
I missed a concert that I had already purchased tickets for this past week, and I am missing the Cubs/Rangers game coming up.
I guess I got comfortable in Texas, and had things purchased more than a month out :)

Life Events

It does not seem like I can do anything half way.
Since my announcement that I was promoted, and moving halfway across the country, my boyfriend Ben has proposed to me, and we decided that since he was moving with me, we should get married before the actual "move in" date.

If anyone is interested, here is the website that we put together.
http:\\benandmelanie.ourwedding.com

My wedding will be July 17. In Texas. And I am now in Washington state waiting on my home in TX to sell, and looking at homes to buy here.

So I am sitting here in my temporary living looking at my family's blogs, and catching up with stuff that I feel I have let slip with my crazy busy life.
I really am going to miss my home that I made in TX.
I miss Ben, and hope that all is going well in Texas with him.

It is always crazy when you are living temporarily. I had to completely fill my fridge and pantry today, so I went to COSTCO, and got lots of fruit and veggies.

Then I had to go to PETCO and get butch food and water bowls, some treats, a bag of food, and some baggies to pick up after him.

Then I stopped off at the local Best Buy to get a Aux cable for my phone so I can talk hands free in my car, and found a laptop I needed to buy. (I have been looking, it was not just an impulse buy...kind of) I have no access to the internet in my temp living, and trying to finish up planning a wedding, keeping up with email, updating this blog of course...and trying to coordinate moving has prompted an immediate need for a laptop.

My mom and dad are coming in town tomorrow to help me with a few things, and just to visit since I am now pretty close. They have been up visiting my sister, and on their way back to their house they are stopping in to make sure that all is good in my world :)

So I now have one.

I am hoping that I can keep up with all the goings on!

Girls Night

Since I have moved here to Texas, I have made some really good friends.
Once a month there were 7 of us that would get together (if we could).
We would go to plays, to the local Palios (mmmm...), or just over to one of our houses, but regardless of where we were we always had tons of fun.
We had a girls night tonight that was my "going away" girls night.
I am going to miss my friends so terribly.
It is odd for me to actually be in once place long enough to make friends.
So this is really not something that I am used to.
And it is going to be really hard for me to leave the girls that I have become so close with.

So girls...keep up the traditions

BUUUURITTTOOO!!
Palios BYOB (W)
Dallas Summer Musicals (I am so going to find a way to come to Wicked)
Lunch when ever where ever just to get away from work for an hour and talk.

and Andrea....the inappropriate comments can be heard...just call :) And YOU are awesome!
Amy, I am going to miss Baseball. Even though we never made it together, we passed each other often. And I will miss your strength.
Jill, too soon for me to go..I really do wish you have joined sooner! But you look FAB! And today is good. Tomorrow is indeed another day.
Amiee, the nice long talks about how to become who I really can be were so great. Thank you for taking the time, and effort!
Susan, You always kept it real. I will miss your stories.
Laura, Camping, tanning, talking, car rides to my house for no reason, talks from the airport and back, Waffle house hash browns...I will miss all this.

It has been a really eventful 3 years. And each of you have been by my side in one way or another through it all.
Thank you. And I will miss each of you.

Before and After

Since I put my home up for sale today, I thought I would put up pics of when I moved in, and pics of now before it sells.

I really am feeling bad about selling this house.

I have loved it here. It is the nicest house I have lived in, and had everything that I was looking for.

But when the Money is in Washington, so am I.

Enjoy the pics :)

Moving!!!

Well, I have some pictures and topics that I have been meaning to get on here, but seem to not have been able to find the time.

But I have big news that will have to be posted before the everyday life topics.

I have been promoted. I am going to be an Assistant Store Manager in the Kennewick, WA store.

Ben has decided to go with me. We are now in the process of getting everything ready to move.

It is a great opportunity for me and I could not turn it down.

My official start date is the 1st of May, but I am trying to negotiate to start the 10th. We will see.

I am excited and nervous to be back in the stores.

Just thought I would post this so everyone can know!

For those of you in the Northwest…Here we come!

Cubs Tickets

We got our tickets in the mail today for the 2 Cubs games we are going to in Chicago this year!!!!
WooHoo!!!
Can't wait to go!

Granbury, TX

It is one of Ben's friends birthday this week, and her husband threw her a surprise party this weekend, so we drove down to Granbury to go to the party. It was a good time, we went to Fort Worth for the day on Saturday and i got to eat at the famous Fuzzy's Tacos, which was pretty darn good!
Then we went to Main Event which is a game place where you can play all sorts of video games, go bowling, shoot pool, that sort of thing. (which I don't really care for!) but we were wasting time out of town so that the people putting together the party could do it without worrying that she would come home!
About 5pm we made it back, and she was soooo surprised! It is her 30th birthday, and she is not too thrilled at turning 30, so she was having a hard time with it at first! :) But she is a good kid, and many of her friends and family came to the party so she was happy!

We then went back to their place, where Ben and I were staying the night, and watched a movie, and then went to bed.
Got up and went to church with them in their newly formed church.
We grabbed lunch after church, and mine was sooo greasy that I then had a stomach attack twice on the way home (totally sucks when you are traveling!)
We had a grand time, and hope to be able to go down there again soon.

Time Off

It seems like I have not been able to catch my breath lately, so I asked if I could take a few days off to see if I could get it under control, so I took this past Thursday, Friday off, so I will have a 4 day weekend.
It has been really nice.
I have gotten caught up on my housework, and even had time to read a book! I slept in every day, and tried to do as little as possible. I am so glad I have the ability to be able to take some time off.
Ben had a bachelor party this weekend up in Oklahoma for one of his good friends, so he was gone yesterday, and this morning, but is back again, and is worn out!

Hockey Again

I have a friend that is really into hockey, and has season tickets to the minor league hockey team here.
Well, they were having a Susan B Komen event where we got 7$ tickets to go watch, so Ben and his friend Ben, our friends SC and LC and our other friend A, and of course the friend that sent us the information went to the "pink" event.
I did not get any pictures, but had a great time! We went to Palios before the game (one of our favorite mom and pop pizza places) then headed over to the game. I did not get any pictures, but the girls sat with the girls, and the boys with the boys. This seemed to be an ideal situation. Every one had a great time, and we went home tired!
