Christmas Cards

So after all of the picture Drama, we did find some pictures that we used for a photo card, we did get them sent out, and we did go pick them up...after that it has been not really easy to actually address the cards, and get them out. So my promise to all of those who will be getting a Christmas card...
They will be SENT before Christmas!

Reading

So during story time Ben decided to get a picture...and the girls finally figured out that they are interested in looking at the little red light on the camera...if only they could have figured this out last week!

Almost Christmas!

This Christmas season has been a blur! With the hours that I am putting in at work, and the rush to get home to be with my family it seems like I have almost missed it!
Ben and I really wanted to get photo cards for Christmas this year to send out, and we kept trying to set up time to go get our family pictures taken, and everything we set up kept falling through.
So we finally got the camera, got dressed up, and did the whole timer thing. We took a whole day to get pictures of us, and the girls. We honestly did not have too many turn out because the girls were kind of grumpy that day, and it was hard to get them to look a the camera when all they were looking at was a blinking red dot!
Here are some pictures from the WHOLE day of work!

Sickness

Sickness has struck our household again. Ben has been sick for about a week, and yesterday it hit me and both girls head on. So I stayed home from work today not hardly able to get out of bed, and Ben was up all night last night with the girls waking me up only to feed them. He is an awesome guy. He did this for me while he was still feeling yucky himself. I would have been so much worse off if I did not get the sleep I got last night and this morning, so I am taking care of the girls today with the help of my cousin who we have hired to help us a few days a week. Thank goodness for that! The girls are downish for a nap, and I am taking just a few moments to update while they go all the way to sleep! I am hoping the girls go down for real and I can take a nap too! They have to be tired since they slept so poorly last night.
We will see! I hope with the sleep I have been getting that I am able to go back to work tomorrow and not make myself worse by doing so...
The fun of little bugs that make our lives miserable!

5 Months

I thought that time flew before I had kids, now I am truly not sure what happened to the whole year of 2011. It is already almost over, and I feel like I was in a dream world and jumped ahead in time and jumped over an entire year of my life...
Emily and Ana are 5 months old now which means they are learning to sit upright by themselves if they are placed that way, they are starting to get a little cereal in the morning with their breakfast, they are sleeping better and going to sleep on their own pretty much without assistance (most times!)

Ana's first meal

Emily's first meal

I hate to go to work more and more everyday because they are growing and developing so fast that I feel like I come home and they are already different.
I put Ana down for a nap the other day, and I swear that when I got her up a few short hours later that she was an inch taller!
They have developed little personalities and have started to notice that they have a sister and want to interact with each other. That is still developing and Emily wants to play with Ana more than Ana wants to play, but Ana has always been a few weeks behind in development, so I am sure her day is coming where she will interact and play with her sister.
They are so darling and I marvel everyday that Ben and I are responsible for these two little girls that have captured both of us heart and soul.

Halloween

We were invited to a friends house for Halloween this year. I had to work until about 5, but ended up working until about 7ish. Then I ran home as fast as possible got the girls fed, changed into their Halloween outfits, in the car, drove 20 miles to the place, and then the girls got passed around like crazy. We thought that it was just a smaller get together a few couples. Turned out it was a major get together and there were probably 8 couples there and their kids. It was a mess! Then the girls were over tired and started to cry, and were not having any of it. So we only ended up staying for a few hours, then left. Needless to say, we did not get any pictures of the girls on Halloween due to the circumstances.
So we had to wash their outfits and then dress them up again to make sure we documented how darling they were!!!
So here are a few after Halloween pictures!

Girls Baptism

While most of Bens family was together we decided to go ahead and get the girls baptized while we were down there. We wanted the pastor who married us to baptize the girls, and we were so glad we were able to do it.

It was so hot in the church that day, and the dressed the girls wore were quite heavy. We also had had a full day and they had missed thier nap so they were both really grumpy. Emily cried the whole service, and Ana cried in the beginning.

All in all it was a very nice service, and it was so good to have family and good friends there with us.

The weekend in Texas

While we were in Texas we stayed the weekend with my best friend down there Laura, she has a 10 month old little girl, and it was so great to see them, and hang out with her and her family. Andrea also came to visit quite a bit over the weekend, and it was so great to have girls nights! Here are some pictures of me and the girls, my best friend, her daughter and my girls godmother. I had a wonderful time.

Trip to Texas

We got some bad news week before last that Bens Grandmother had passed away. This has been pretty hard on him, and me as he was close to his Grandma, and I had become close since we started dating. I enjoyed my time everytime we visited them.

When Bens dad called and told Ben the sad news the only thing I could think of was that she was looking forward to meeting my two girls, her first great grandchildren, and we had not made it down there yet for her to do so. Also, she had asked for some pictures of them, and we had put together a book of pictures for her, got them in, and the book was so poorly done that we returned it. We had gotten another one put together and just had not gotten it ordered and sent yet. All things that I feel terrible about. I never had any great grandparents, and I was looking forward to my girls having great grandparents to dote on them, and love them. I love Bens Grandparents morals, and his grandmother would have had such a good time with these two little girls. I wish that she could have had the chance to meet them.

I was thrilled that I got home and had them meet my grandmother, and I was not even worried about not making it down to TX for his to meet them. We were planning on next spring.

So many regrets when you dont expect someone to pass.

We had a very good time down in Texas with family. We wish we were there for a different reason, but it was good to see family none the less.

End of October

Wow has time flown by. It seems like I have not had a day to just sit and get online for a whole month, then I looked at the last time I blogged, and it pretty much was the last time I was online...even to pay my bills. I have been working so many hours lately, and I come home and want to spend every minute with the girls that I can, and so by the time we get them to sleep I am usually ready to sleep too. So this is the first time I have been able to do something other than sleep and work and rock babies.
The girls are doing so well, they are getting such little personalities, and cooing and talking all the time. We have gotten them on a schedule now thanks to Ben's hard work, and when we are able to abide by this they are mostly good little happy babies. I have decided that I LOVE this age. The smiling and cooing and talking.

Ben and I have also been so thrilled about a program they have here in Kennewick. It is called "Ready for Kindergarten". It is a local program where they have a 3 hour class once a quarter and they give you a few educational toys and some books and teach you about reading to your children and how to teach them starting when they are just babies. So Ben and I have been playing with them teaching them things with the toys, and reading to them. They love being read to, and it is so fun to see them really pay attention to the book, and look at the pictures. Ana loves story time, and Emily likes it for a few minutes and then gets kind of bored.
Ben's mom has been sending us books from the "little golden books" series and we have been reading many of those. Plus we have a subscription to a book club that sends lots of Dr. Seuss books which are so fun to read, and they have great pictures for the girls to look at.
I cant wait to get home from work to be with the girls and I wait impatiently all week for my days off to be able to see these little ones grow and develop.
We are looking for a part time"nanny" for a few days a week to help out, and help Ben keep his sanity. I have asked one of my cousins and we will see if she is able. If not, we will keep looking.
There are a lot of ladies at the church who love to come help Ben out during the days and have a great time.

Poor little Butch gets very little love nowadays, he gets whipped by burp clothes a lot, and yelled at. Poor little guy.

Ben and I got to go out last night and spend some time with some people our age, without the kiddos (well kindof) We went to a church event where they had daycare, so I was in the next building over, and got called out a few times to go feed the girls. It was a masquerade ball, and a murder mystery. It was tons of fun.

I know that this is a little disjointed, but I wanted to put lots of goings on in here, and I don't have a lot of time.
