Valentines Day

We had a fun full day today!

We had Dad home for a few minutes to be there when we got our Valentine gifts, which the girls LOVED.  (books...you know they will love them) and each a ball.

It was story day at the library and the girls really like story day!  I dressed them up in the Valentine shirts that Ben's mom sent, and they were super cute!
We went to story time, then came home, napped and then went to the park..two events which we do often, but I don't ever think to bring my camera.
Since it was a special day today I thought I would bring it to be able to remember.

We then started to make sugar cookies, but I got to the point of adding the flour, and realized as I was scooping the last half cup out of the bag that I was not going to be able to finish...so we went to the store to buy more flour, and it just turned out that once we got home (for those of you who take more than once child to a grocery store under the age of 5...you understand a little of what that means)  it was really too late to finish.

So we had dinner, and went to bed.  I love these little girls so much.  They are a blast.  A huge handful, and there are times when I just want to lock myself in the bathroom for a moment, but they are darling, smart, loving little girls and I love that I get to spend everyday with them.

I wish I had more of my Mom in me so I could come up with crafty neat things for them to do...but story time at the library is going to have to do for now!

Happy Valentines day to everyone.  I think I am going to have to do two posts.  One from the Library, and one from the park.
Ana and her new ball

Emily and her new ball and the picnic basket which she wouldnt let down.

Emily was feeling a bit tired at the library

Biting

We have a little biter in our house.  She bites and chews on everything.  I am about ready to change her name to Rover, or Skippy.
She destroys things with her chewing.  Books, crayons, her crib, shoes, toys, you probably get the picture.

We added a toy to our household the other day, and both of the girls LOVE it.  It is a little picnic basket with food and plates and things like that.  It sings little songs when you open the lid and the girls fight over it all day long.

I only got one because I am trying to teach the principle of sharing...I am currently failing miserably in this endeavour, but I am holding out hope that I may get them to understand someday!

In the meantime...this is what happened in one of the not sharing moments.  Ana decided to take matters into her own hands and take action with her teeth.

Gifts from Andrea

The girls Godmother came over and gave the girls thier gifts for Valentines day early.  They really like them.
She made some heart shaped crayons and gave them little stuffed animals.

Unpleasant Surprise

Last night as I was getting ready for bed, I heard a noise that was a familiar noise, but I couldn't place it.  It was one of those times where you recognize the noise but you cant place it...you just know that it does not fit in the current situation...
I was by myself with the girls, in a new place in a new neighborhood, and I got a little freaked out.  I grabbed our mag flashlight...(you know the really heavy big ones the cops use) and a pocket knife and I headed downstairs to check out the noise.  It was 11ish at night and dark, so I checked out the whole house, under beds, closets, the works.  About halfway through the house I got a feeling of calm.  That whatever had my senses going berserk had gone.  I continued checking though, because what if...

I didn't find anything amiss, and looked outside at the vehicles and didn't see anything amiss there either.
So I went to bed.  With the flashlight by my side :)

It was story day at the library today, so I got the girls up, fed, and ready to go.  I always get all the "stuff" it takes to get two toddlers anywhere out in the car, and then get the girls in.
I clicked the key fob to unlock the car and nothing happened.  First odd thing.  Then I went to open the passenger side door, and it was not latched.  second odd thing.  Then I opened the door and found things quite amiss.
Someone had broken into my car.
You want some irony...at that very moment it clicked in my brain what it was that I heard last night.  It was the click of the trunk being popped open from the inside of the car.
Another bit of irony.  They stole my mag light.  Just like the one I would have beat them with if I would have caught them in the act...
Stupid, irritating, (there are more words to go here, but I need a thesaurus...) jerks.  I hope Karma catches up with you.

I called an reported the break in, cleaned up the mess they left...They dumped the diaper bag..really?  What were you looking for in there?  Thanks for the mess.

The girls were so upset they missed story time.

I was upset that someone violated my personal space and messed up my day.

It was fortunate that they did not do any damage.  Just threw everything everywhere.  All the cubbies were emptied onto the floor or the seats, the contents of the diaper bag strewn everywhere, the girls toys and water bottles thrown around.

So all in all... today has not been my day.

To top it all off...I don't think the car could have been locked and them get in without doing any damage...so...this all could have been avoided if I hadn't been preoccupied with something the day before and locked the dang car!  (which I thought I was pretty good about always locking the car)

That is all.

Sunday Dresses

Since I no longer work for JCP, I now have to work a little harder to get the girls to match on Sundays.  Other days I am not as particular.  I like them to be similar but not matchy matchy...Partly because they are starting to look so much alike I need to them be wearing different things! :)  I was given one of these dresses and the other one I bought at Penneys on clearance before I left.
I thought they turned out so cute!  The cowboy boots were added after church! They wore church shoes to church.
