Reading on her terms

Emily has found a new pastime that she thinks is the bees knees.  It is awesome!
She gets this same Thomas the Train book and holds it up for me to read.  Waits for me to say "next page please" then gets a big smile on her face and changes the page then holds it up for me to read the next page.

Haloween

This is the first year we planned to take the girls trick-or-treating, so technically it is the first year they dressed up as anything.  They loved watching all the "Halloween" episodes of Dora and Diego and Thomas.  In the Dora Halloween episode Dora was a cat, so they wanted to be cats. 
Whew!  That is something I can do! So I looked around for tail and ears and they already had black clothes they could wear.
We went to my BFFs house for a Halloween party and then went to a few houses in her neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. So we had a fun dinner with friends and then set out for our first time ever!
The girls thought it was the most fun thing they had ever done!  They were almost running from house to house.  They would knock and then say trick or treat!  I was actually pretty amazed at how quickly they caught on.
near the end Ana kept trying to get a lollipop out of her pumpkin and Ben and I kept putting it back!
At the last house she finally managed to get it out and unwrapped and in her mouth before we could get it!
She was determined to get that darn candy!
They talked about Laura's house and trick-or-treating for quite a few days after Halloween!
It was so much fun for me to see them blossoming and starting to become little girls!

Cousins wedding

We went to one of Ben's cousins wedding this weekend.  It was a really neat setup.  They didn't have any chairs for the ceremony so everyone stood. Which made sense.  The wedding was outside and the reception was just a few steps away in a cool old barn that had been converted. The girls did pretty well, and had a good time running around and dancing.  Climbing all over the outdoor implements and some toys that were there.  There were quite a few bigger boys there too, so they got a little rambunctious a few times thinking they could do some of the things the older boys were doing.
Emily ended up with a big knot on her head from being knocked down on the dance floor but other than that we got away pretty clean. 
It was good to spend some time with family.

SAFE

The girls were learning how to run to trees an touch them and say SAFE! like they were playing a game!  I thought it was so much fun!
They love this little park by our house and are getting more and more adventurous every time.
I am glad it has such a range of age appropriate things so they haven't gotten bored with it yet!

Towel ghosts

Maybe we should have planned on being ghosts for halloween!
Every night these girls get out of the tub they wrap their towels around themselves and go and choose their night night panties.
I think it is so cute!  So I had to snap a picture!

Patch

Emily is doing so well with wearing her glasses and her patch.  We had an awesome second appointment with the eye doctor and he said that she is doing very well!  Great job Emily!

The Good Guys car show

We never seem to be able to get out and doing an all day event any more now that Ben works every Saturday, but he had some work contacts that he wanted to make and touch base with at the car show so we were able to make a family trip of it!
We had a blast.  the girls love cars and trucks and they had a great time just riding around looking at things. 
They had their first ever hand dipped corney dog and both ate the whole thing.
There was a booth that had coloring pages for them, and then after they turned it in, they got a free little car!
Ben had a friend there that was signed up to go out onto the track and do a few laps.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and they were red flagged almost as soon as they got on the track for rain.

BB Pumpkin

We were offered pumpkins in our Bountiful Basket this week and I knew the girls had been so excited about carving a pumpkin, so I got one for them and surprised them with it!  They were so happy!  They just kept saying !pumpkin! and going over to it.  When I put it outside they kept asking where it went!

Texas

It is so nice that we can still be going to the park with nice weather in the middle of October!  Makes mom and the girls happy to get out and get some fresh air!

Ana figured out how to climb on top of the dresser today

The girls have found a new tactic if they don't want to go upstairs...

We were coloring bats and pumpkins...can you guess what color we decided to eat? 

The girls got a gift from Grandma and Grandpa because they had been doing so well in different aspects of their little lives.  We try to facetime with them every once in a while just to keep in touch! 
This is just a photo bomb of the next day!  The girls are growing up so fast and they do such silly little things!
I think it is so funny to watch how they react differently in situations.  For example, if Emily gets in trouble and has to sit in time out or is getting attention for being naughty, Ana then decides that she is getting left out and so she does the same naughty thing to get attention.  On the other hand, if Ana has done something naughty and is getting attention for it Emily then finds something really nice to do and does it.  Such as she will see my phone laying on the couch and she will interrupt me with Ana to give me the phone back!  Then she says "Thank you Emily..."  makes me smile every time!
