I have to take a minute and write down some thoughts.
Over the past few months I have felt terrible, and have done so very little for myself. I have had a hard time cooking, or eating for that matter. I have hardly cleaned anything. I have left dishes, and clothes all over the house, because I really just felt too bad to pick up after myself.
I would come home, and either pretty much go to bed, or sit on the couch, and not get up again.
I have been so blessed in my life. It took me a while, but I have found the most caring, compassionate man. And he loves me too!
Ben has been doing everything for me. He has been cleaning, cooking, and pretty much waiting on me hand and foot. While a few times I think he may have wanted to say something to the effect of are you ever going to get up? He never did. He has made these past few icky months so much better.
I don’t know what I have done to deserve such a man, but I love him, and I am going to keep him!
I have never been a nervous nellie, but with having two babies growing inside of me, and only seeing the doctor once a month, it has been so hard to not worry. Even though there have not been any problems at all (other than the normal ones!) I still find myself freaking out a little. Ben once again has been the voice of reason letting me know that it is all going to be alright. No matter how it turns out. He wants everything to be ok too, and yet takes the time and patience to settle me down, and reassure me that we can handle it.
I have been especially worried the past few weeks, because I have been feeling one of the babies moving around quite a bit, and have not been feeling the other. Plus, I have been on the web too much! There are so many stories out there of ladies losing one or both of their babies, and it is always in the back of my mind! And there is not really a period of time where it seems safe. The stories range from 6 weeks to 36 weeks. So I hope I can get a handle on things! I don’t think I can handle worrying for the rest of my pregnancy!
So I pray everyday and know that what will happen will happen, but pray that we will have the strength to handle whatever comes!
I do stand back in awe at the blessings in my life. My husband who I love more than I could ever imagine, my family who is a constant example and strength to me. My husbands family who I am so incredibly grateful for. A great job, with an awesome boss who works harder than anyone I know. Friends who while they are far away still care, and keep in touch, and I do miss them everyday. Of course I cannot forget my dog! Butch is a constant companion and is always happy to see me.
I just was a bit overwhelmed today with how I felt, and how grateful I am for everything I have that I never thought I would. So I had to write it down.

15 weeks
Alrighty, the last pic was 13 weeks. This is 15 weeks. These babies are growing like weeds, and doing back flips, and summersaults. Well, one of them is doing all that. The other one is kind of calm. Only feel that stub moving everyonce in a while...I think...how do you know which is which :)
We are looking forward to our ultrasound on the 4th to hopefully find out what these two little guys are. I guess with one sis having a boy, and one sis having a girl to keep with the Ricks trend we are going to have to have one of each. So the cousins all have a friend!
It is almost impossible to stand the wait! Just two more weeks.

Growing
So it seems that I have been getting bigger and bigger pretty fast. This picture was taken 2 weeks ago, and I have gotten even bigger. I was thinking about it though, and I remember how mom looked when she was fully pregnant with Joel who was quite a big boy when he was born, so if my two are smaller baby's like around 6, I cant get too much bigger than mom was. I think I can handle that.
I am still having a hard time thinking that this is really happening.
We go in for our "fingers and toes" ultrasound week after next. Hopefully these little guys will behave and let us see what they are. Boy or Girl.
I think I have finally gotten past the icky first trimester mess.
I also can't believe that Mom and Dad are going to have 4 grandbabies all with in a few months.
They are going to be busy!

Update
I have not been too good about updating my blog lately. I guess maybe because I just went through holiday in a retail store, and as soon as I got off work, I was either eating, or sleeping! My blog was really not a priority! Then after Holiday, I guess I have not felt well for a few months, and have not really done a whole lot!
Ben has been doing so much for me. He makes dinner many nights, and does the dishes most days.
But I am planning on getting back on track. I have some time next week, or maybe the week after to update with some real posts, not just a teaser! So stay tuned!

Honeymoon
So I have a few moments to post another section of my new life!
The Honeymoon.
Ben and I had planned to go to the Ricks family reunion in August in February, and planned to stay a few extra days in Chicago, catch some Cubs games, and just relax. We had booked our flights, and our hotel, so we were going. As it turns out, when we planned the wedding the reunion just happened to coincide nicely. So we decided since it was actually planned, booked and paid for it would work out nicely to use this trip as our honeymoon!
So I went back to Washington after the wedding until the day before we flew out to Chicago. I flew into Dallas the night before we left, and then turned around and flew out of Dallas at 6 the next morning. We got into Chicago and took the public transit train to the bus station which took about an hour, then found a locker for our luggage (this was not as easy as it sounds[they only took exact change at all the places we needed to pay for things, the train ride, the locker…ect])
Then we found a local place to eat some lunch until we boarded the train to Nauvoo to meet up with James.
Once we were done eating we went and caught our train. This was actually a great time. We both enjoyed just relaxing and not having to worry about anything. Snoozing on and off and just talking. The scenery was quite nice as well. We did see a LOT of corn.
We got to the train station a few hours after we were supposed to, and James was there waiting for us (He waited quite a long time…)We then went to the local grocery store to buy our food for the rest of the week. We got to Nauvoo pretty late, and went to check in. This was a bit of a fiasco, but turned out ok. Then we did a whole bunch of fun things with the fam. After the family reunion we went back to the train station, and off to Chicago. We got off the train, and got in the cab to go to the hotel. As I got in, I knew our reservations were at the Red roof inn (not the best place, but affordable) So we start going in the cab, and I am not sure we are going the right way. It seems something is off. As it turns out, once we had decided to make this our honeymoon, Ben had changed our reservations to stay at the Affinia Hotel. Which we had such a nice room. Ben did good. And it was all a surprise.
We did a ton of fun things there, we walked everywhere we went, so it had to be within a few miles of our hotel, which was on the magnificent mile, so we could choose all sorts of places. We walked to Navy Pier, we had a great time there, it was incredible humid this day, so we also played a bit in the lake. We went to the Art Institute of Chicago one day. It was great. We of coarse went to a couple of Cubs games via the public transit. We met some interesting people there.
We enjoyed some FANTASTIC food, and loved being with each other with no worries except where to go to next.
We took a night lake cruise our first night, and it was so fun. I loved it.
I was so happy to have found a great guy, marry him, then have a great down to earth paid for honeymoon!

Wedding Week
I have been so busy, I have not had a chance to do anything but work eat and sleep. Ben has been doing most of the “leftover” unpacking, and cooking, and chores. I thank God for him every day!
I will be trying to update this on all the happenings! But I will start out with the furthest back.
My wedding.
Before I left for Washington, we ordered the wedding announcements, and got our list together and sent these out. We got them ordered before we went to Mason to visit his parents for one last time before we moved all the way across the country. So on our way we figured out what verses we would like for our ceremony, and what flowers, colors, and themes…We then spent a great weekend with his family. Then I was off to Washington.
Living temporarily in Washington while we were trying to plan the wedding which really was spur of the moment was a little trying! I flew down the end of June to work out some deals on my house in Texas which I was trying to sell, as well as getting all the legal stuff for the wedding taken care of since you have to get your marriage license at least 3 days in advance of the wedding, and no more than 30 days in advance…We needed to get the wedding details worked out with our Pastor, and go to marriage counseling with our “other pastor” (our violin instructor facilitated our marriage counseling…he is a pastor as well) He was bummed that we did not choose him to do the ceremony, but we had already built a great relationship with our Pastor where we went to church, and wanted him to perform the ceremony. As well as we wanted to get married in the church which had brought us closer to God and together over the past year.
That week we also were looking all over for the cover we wanted for our wedding bulletin, and we could not find a design we liked. We knew exactly what we wanted, and were disappointed we could not fine it. That is when the light bulb went off in my head…I am marrying a graphic design artist…this is what he does. So I asked him if he would create the bulletin, and he did. He did such a great job.
On to the actual wedding day/week…This was such a great day. It was a bit hectic, but worked out to be fantastic with the help of all my family and friends.
I flew in Wednesday night, my flight was delayed, and so I got in pretty late after leaving pretty early that morning. So when Ben picked me up at the airport boy was I glad to see him! I let him know I was hungry since I had not eaten since airport food at lunch. So we stopped by Red Robin and got an order to go since they were closing in 5 minutes or so. I have to say they have the most awesome burger called the Burnin love burger…I always get the garden patty and the wheat bun and it is so TASTY!
So we drove home ate quickly, and went to bed. We had a full day the next day. We went shopping for the last minute items we needed for the wedding, and reception. We dropped a lot of dough at fabric stores…Ben turned in his Man card for the day to help me. We then ate at California pizza at the mall where I went for last minute grooming. They forgot to order our pizza’s, so we ended up being there for a while, but it turned out ok, because we ate for free for our trouble. We then went and got his tux, and stuff for the day. My parents were coming into town that evening for the wedding, so we went to get the beds ready for them and my niece and nephews to realize that our blow up bed was damaged…So we ran to Wal-Mart and got another blowup bed, then ran back home, got them all set up, and relaxed for a while. My parents came, and the next day was all about getting ready for the wedding. We got up early and went to decorate the reception hall. I had a girls “last lunch” planned for a while, and when it came time to go, we were not done with the decorations yet, but they were all waiting for me at Palios, so I had to rush to throw on my dress for the day. Laura came and picked me up since we were one car shy for the week. She was very patient and I felt like I was running around like crazy! Ben was not too thrilled at having me leave him with the rest of the decorating, and going to the fabric store once more for more tulle…Then I had planned a girls day for the rest of the day after I got done with lunch, so my mom, Bens mom, Laura, Andrea, and Katie and I all went to get pedicures and manicures. We had such a great time doing this! Katie was so cute. She got little flowers on her nails since she was a flower girl. It felt so good to be pampered.
We then went shoe shopping since I had not gotten my shoes for the wedding yet. We found some great shoes!
Then on to the wedding Rehearsal. This went seamlessly and it was off to the rehearsal dinner at Babes Fired Chicken! This was a great spot, and we had a really fun time. Thanks to David and Ann.
Since we were one car shy, there were 6 of us who piled into Mom and Dad’s Maxima for the ride home! It was a bit tight! Poor Kadie got to sit on the floor. I tried to go as fast as I could so that she would not be uncomfortable for long.
Then the next day it was off to the hair salon to get my hair done at 11. Then to the church for the pictures and stuff. The whole time this was going on, the men in my life were getting together the flowers for the wedding, and the rest of my family getting all the last minute touches done for the reception. I am so grateful they did all this so I could have a special day without stress.
We then had the wedding, which was so lovely.
Pastor Lindner did a great job, and the reception which was short but fun. Rudy’s BBQ did a great job as usual providing great food. Thanks Lauren.
And the cakes were beautiful, and very good. Ben still feels bad he did not get a piece of the red velvet which was made especially for him.
We then went to the after party at the “Ye Old Shire Pub” It was quite and relaxed so we could just chat and hang out with friends for the last time for me, and one of the last times for Ben. About midnight we called it a night and headed for the Renaissance Hotel. Ben had gotten us a very nice suite, and we had a wonderful night together. The next morning we ordered breakfast in bed.
Then it was all over…We headed home, unpacked all our gear, opened gifts so I could start the thank you notes, and then headed to the airport for me to head back to Washington.
That is the wedding event details. I feel so very blessed to have such great friends and family who all helped make our wedding such a great occasion. And all who came and supported Ben and I in our marriage. I also am so very blessed to have found a man who loves me, and who I can love back.

Married!
So the wedding day has come and gone, and I am now officially Mrs. Scarth. the wedding service was so great, and the reception went off wonderfully! Almost all the food was consumed, and all the cake as well. It was all delicious.
It was so great to have all my family and friends around. I wish I could have spent more time with my family, but I figure I will see most of them next week, so I can spend time with them then.
The after party was nice as well. Ben did a good job of finding a great place, and we have an excellent time just sitting back and hanging out with all our friends!

New life
I have been in Washington for 2 months and I am starting to get into a routine at work, but my personal life is still in an upheaval! I am set to close on our new house next week, then I am off to Dallas the next day to quickly finish up wedding preparations!
Then I will Marry my fantastic wonderful betrothed one week from today. In front of family and friends! I cant wait for that day to be able to say in front of all those I love that I want to spend my life with Ben.
Sadly the next day it is back to Washington for me while Ben stays in Dallas to work his last week in his office in Texas. Then we go to meet up with some of my family for a few days in Illinois then it is off to Chicago for Ben and I. I will eat some soy dogs, Ben will eat some Chicago dogs, we will watch some baseball and sweat! It will be August in Chicago! I will not be forgetting my swimsuit!
We will come back, sell my house in Texas, pack, and start our trek to Washington as a newly married wonderfully happy couple! We will pick up Butch from Landon in Kansas, then we will be back to normal! I cant wait.
We will see some of you at the wedding, and some of you at the reunion. The rest of you we will see sometime down the road!
