Bens Buddy Ben Visits!

Ben's friend Ben came to visit over Presidents day weekend. It is always good to see him. We went to church and had to get some pics afterwards!

Getting big!

Emily and Ana up to no good! They sure do like to play with one another and be naughty! I am worried for when the times come that they actually conspire together!

Emily learning to drink from her sippy cup all by herself.

Ana just out of the bath with Da. She is our cute little Jedi baby.

Valentines day 2012

So I remember getting books on Valentines day growing up, and I would be so excited about getting a new book.
Now the girls are having that tradition passed on to them. Here are the books they got and them in thier cute Valentines day outfits.
Later Dad read to them. I still am amazed at how much they love to be read to. They eat it up.

Some new pics

Sisterly Love

The other night we put the girls to bed, and a few minutes later I check the monitor to see if they are asleep. What I see is that Emily has rolled over on to her belly and Ana is whacking her in the head repeatedly. I go in and break it up and get them to go tp sleep...next day the girls are playing on the floor and they do the exact same thing, so I have to go get the camera! Enjoy!

Update on the sleeping arrangements and other stuff

So we tried the separate crib thing for about 3 nights, and decided it was time to revert back. So we put them together again and slept a blissful night again. I guess we separated them too early. Kind of like we took their pacifiers away to early and ended up giving them back. We have learned the lesson that we will try to do what we feel is right, and the girls will let us know if it is or not!
They are both doing so well.

They don't have any teeth yet although I had a dream last night that Ben woke me up in the morning and told me that Emily had 4 teeth break through during the night lol. darn dreams. I am ok with them not sprouting teeth yet!
They are also not crawling or even hinting at wanting to yet.

They still get tummy time, and have gotten much more content with it. They are still rolling around a bit and they love their jungle gym. It is their favorite place.

We have a lot of fun with their Bumbos in that it seems everytime we put them in their Bumbo's they poop their pants and have a nice blowout due to them sitting on their diaper and it forcing the poo out! It has been fun! We now have them sit with caution! lol.

They are eating really well, and Emily has been trying to figure out how to drink from a cup. She is trying different ways, and some of them have worked, some have not. The latest trick is she sucks in the water like you would slurp the last little bit left over on the top of a soda can, except she sucks it up and then chokes because she has not figured out how to get it in her mouth them stop slurping, so she slurps it down the wrong pipe, and coughs and spurts all the water out again! But she is trying to figure it out so I will keep at it! Ana just lets it all run out when I try to give her water out of a cup, and she cant figure out sippee cups, she thinks it is a spoon and tries to chew on it to get the water out!
They are eating like champs, and now have gotten so they tolerate meat. They eat lots of good stuff now! They had a really hard time with the home made peas, but I don't think I pureed them enough and they were having a hard time with the texture more than the taste.

Thanks Grandma Ricks and Granny Annie!

Grandma Ricks sent these little outfits for Christmas! I had a hard time waiting until they fit! Emily was a bit grumpy today but a got a peak of a smile once! I had to add some leg warmers just because it is still cold and I could not let them hang out all day with bare little legs! So those dont match too well but they were the only ones I had! Blogger is doing odd things as I try to comment on each of the pictures..This may turn out to be an odd post with spaces and such, but I cant seem to get it to do what I want. Emily is in the white onesie, and Ana is in the green one in the first pictures

Granny Annie sent the outfits in the last few pictures for Christmas! They fit earlier, and I took pictures and I guess the only place I posted them was to facebook! I have too many sites to get things posted to I guess!
Emily is in the black and Ana is in the green!

So hard to see them grow up

We have been starting to put the girls down in seperate cribs over the last few days, and I have to admit: It has made me pretty sad. I have loved having twins and watching them interact with each other, and need each other. The fact that they would often hold hands while asleep made my heart melt, and now thier cribs seem so cold and lonely. But they are getting to be too big to sleep sideways in thier cribs, so we had to make the choice to move them. They have to now soothe themselves and it has been a bit of a struggle for them. Ana has no longer been sleeping through the night, and Emily has such a hard time falling asleep. It breaks my heart to see them reach out expecting to touch another warm body, and be alone.

Baby Food

I have been torn on what to do about baby food. Do I just buy the stuff at the store which tastes very bland, or do I make my own?
One of the girls I work with was talking about a baby food blender she bought and used, but does not plan on having any more kids so she was looking to sell it on craigs list. I told her that I would buy it from her.
So that sealed the deal. I was going to spend a little money on a blender/steamer I was going to use it!
Ben and I spent the whole day yesterday making baby food. The lady I got it from threw in three baby food cookbooks with it too.
We made a few concoctions, and a few just simple veggies. We froze some of these in ice cube trays, and then popped them out and put them in baggies to be able to know what they were!
We ended up with cubes of:
Peas
Butternut Squash
Sweet Potato
Carrots
A combination of:
Carrots/Regular Potato/Squash
Peas/Spinach/Sweat Potato

Here are the goods!
