Frustrating!

So I worked really hard on a post of our Trip to Vancouver with all the pictures, and I had about 2 more pictures to upload, and my Internet crashed. We have been so disappointed in our "bundle" with Comcast. Our Internet service is spotty at best, and is crashing all the time. Our cable tv has the same problem, and it does not stay consistent. The cable box is always having technical difficulties. And it can only have about 10 recorded shows at one time then starts to delete. And I mean half hour shows, not movies. It is a pile of junk! Comcast is not who I would choose again, but now we are in a contract. In the beginning, we called support all the time, but they were incredibly unhelpful. so we quit calling, and are just frustrated.
So I am going to try to get that post up again today!

"BabyMoon"

I was reading on a website that I frequent now days about something they call a "babymoon" I didn't even remember that until just now, and I thought to myself, hey, we just went on our "babymoon" It is apperantly a trip where a couple goes to have a quiet celebration (like a honeymoon) before thier baby is born.
I have been laughing about it since I thought about it! :)
So here are pictures from Ben and I's Babymoon! lol

Weekend Trip

So I took off Friday because this was the day of the long awaited ultrasound to tell us if everything was ok with our babies. I decided to take it off, because if it turned out to be bad news, I did not want to have to feel like I needed to go back to work.
So Ben and I decided that if everything was good, we were going to celebrate by going to Canada. We have been talking about it, and I figured this was going to be the best time for it. I am still early in my second trimester, and it is not too far away.
The ultrasound went very well, it looks like both babies are growing the way they should be. It is hard to tell what is really going on because it is not the doctor doing the ultrasound, it is a technician which has to be really careful what they say, but we saw all the major parts and that they were normal as far as we could see.
We truly were surprised to see that we are going to be having two girls, we did not expect that. Plus I really wanted to be able to have a boy so that I could be done with these two! But now I may have to try again. We will see.
Back to the trip. Ben and I loaded up and started our trek to Canada. It took much longer than we planned because we hit Seattle during rush hour on a Friday. That was a mess. So we got to our hotel about 9pm and pretty much went to bed. We got up early and hit the ground running. We went to English Bay first, and then as we were going to walk around the beach, we saw that there was a Museum, so we figured we would stop in. It was the Museum of Vancouver, and they had this highly published sculpture of a parka. It was SOOOOO dumb, then downstairs they had the history of Vancouver which was pretty cool. However it took us about 40 minutes to walk the whole place, and it cost us 30 dollars (which Canada’s dollar is more than ours right now, so our exchange rate we lost money. ) So that was a bum deal.
After we were done doing this, we walked around the Beach at English Bay, it was very nice. It was quite chilly, and overcast, but it was not raining! After we did this, we decided to go to Stanley Park and see all the stuff there. We decided to hit one of the restaurants there, and went to “The Fish House” It was very good, and after that we found our way to the Aquarium. It was pretty good. These events pretty much took the entire day, which was mostly walking. Near the end of the Aquarium, I wasn’t too well off. I was hurting pretty bad, and my babies were pressing down pretty hard causing quite an achey sensation. I told Ben that I was absolutely done for the day. We needed to go back to the hotel. So we did, and I have been resting for the past hour or so, but now it is past 7, and I am starving…problem. I do not want to go out. I am not yet feeling great, but there are not any delivery places around here. So it is time to lock the dog in his kennel again, and head out. We have made reservations for “Cheshire Cheese Restaurant and Grill” apparently it is a British type place. I hope I can find something good to eat and not have to resort to Bangers and Mash!
More later! And some pics!

Gear

So I have started looking at all the gear that we need for the babies, and holy crap is all I can say. Not only is the sheer amount that you need overwhelming, but the fact that it is all so different. You have to read safety reviews, other mom reviews, and take into consideration the price, and the size, and what it is you are looking to do. I could take months trying to figure this stuff out!

Worn out!

It is amazing how different my body reacts to work now that I am a baby builder. When I take a few hours to sit down and do computer work, I go to get up, and I realize how badly my back hurts, and my sciatic nerve problem is wow so much worse. Every time I get up I have to grab something for the first few steps so I don't fall down.. :)
Then when I close the store, I have to be up and on my feet for about 6 hours strait walking quickly ensuring the store is running smoothly, and getting put back together after we close. This goes on until about 11pm, then we shut it down, and I usually get home about midnight, or a bit after. I get home, and my legs, and back hurt so bad I cant believe it!
The thing is, is that I actually weigh less now than I did before, so I cant blame it on weight gain. And I am only in my 4th month! I cannot imagine how I am going to cope for 4 or 5 more months!
Then I have been reading a book about having twins, and the advice they give is amazing...I am supposed to gain 50 lbs this pregnancy (wow) and by now should have gained half of that. hmmm. That is A LOT!
The book actually has a lot of great ideas and advice, and ways to have healthy babies, so I am really glad I read it, however one part really freaks me out...they say that if you work a full time job, on your feet or office work does not make a difference, you should plan to start your leave when you are at week 28, and they urge you to leave week 24.
Ya...that is not going to work. I am allowed 12 weeks of leave, and I would use all that before I even had the babies. It just really surprised me that they would say you needed to stop working so incredibly early.
They do say with twins, your uterus at week 24 is actually the size of a single baby would be at 32 weeks, so I guess I can understand if I think about it this way. When I am 28 weeks along, my body will be as stretched and uncomfortable as a single baby at 36 weeks.
So who knows. I am going to have a good talk with my doctor about this at my next appointment.
This journey is nothing like I ever thought it would be. And I just keep telling myself that this will all be worth it, and it will end. They cannot be growing in me forever! I just keep hoping that I am doing what I can to make sure they are growing good and healthy!

Blessings

I have to take a minute and write down some thoughts.
Over the past few months I have felt terrible, and have done so very little for myself. I have had a hard time cooking, or eating for that matter. I have hardly cleaned anything. I have left dishes, and clothes all over the house, because I really just felt too bad to pick up after myself.
I would come home, and either pretty much go to bed, or sit on the couch, and not get up again.
I have been so blessed in my life. It took me a while, but I have found the most caring, compassionate man. And he loves me too!
Ben has been doing everything for me. He has been cleaning, cooking, and pretty much waiting on me hand and foot. While a few times I think he may have wanted to say something to the effect of are you ever going to get up? He never did. He has made these past few icky months so much better.
I don’t know what I have done to deserve such a man, but I love him, and I am going to keep him!

I have never been a nervous nellie, but with having two babies growing inside of me, and only seeing the doctor once a month, it has been so hard to not worry. Even though there have not been any problems at all (other than the normal ones!) I still find myself freaking out a little. Ben once again has been the voice of reason letting me know that it is all going to be alright. No matter how it turns out. He wants everything to be ok too, and yet takes the time and patience to settle me down, and reassure me that we can handle it.
I have been especially worried the past few weeks, because I have been feeling one of the babies moving around quite a bit, and have not been feeling the other. Plus, I have been on the web too much! There are so many stories out there of ladies losing one or both of their babies, and it is always in the back of my mind! And there is not really a period of time where it seems safe. The stories range from 6 weeks to 36 weeks. So I hope I can get a handle on things! I don’t think I can handle worrying for the rest of my pregnancy!
So I pray everyday and know that what will happen will happen, but pray that we will have the strength to handle whatever comes!
I do stand back in awe at the blessings in my life. My husband who I love more than I could ever imagine, my family who is a constant example and strength to me. My husbands family who I am so incredibly grateful for. A great job, with an awesome boss who works harder than anyone I know. Friends who while they are far away still care, and keep in touch, and I do miss them everyday. Of course I cannot forget my dog! Butch is a constant companion and is always happy to see me.
I just was a bit overwhelmed today with how I felt, and how grateful I am for everything I have that I never thought I would. So I had to write it down.

15 weeks

Alrighty, the last pic was 13 weeks. This is 15 weeks. These babies are growing like weeds, and doing back flips, and summersaults. Well, one of them is doing all that. The other one is kind of calm. Only feel that stub moving everyonce in a while...I think...how do you know which is which :)

We are looking forward to our ultrasound on the 4th to hopefully find out what these two little guys are. I guess with one sis having a boy, and one sis having a girl to keep with the Ricks trend we are going to have to have one of each. So the cousins all have a friend!

It is almost impossible to stand the wait! Just two more weeks.

Growing

So it seems that I have been getting bigger and bigger pretty fast. This picture was taken 2 weeks ago, and I have gotten even bigger. I was thinking about it though, and I remember how mom looked when she was fully pregnant with Joel who was quite a big boy when he was born, so if my two are smaller baby's like around 6, I cant get too much bigger than mom was. I think I can handle that.
I am still having a hard time thinking that this is really happening.
We go in for our "fingers and toes" ultrasound week after next. Hopefully these little guys will behave and let us see what they are. Boy or Girl.
I think I have finally gotten past the icky first trimester mess.
I also can't believe that Mom and Dad are going to have 4 grandbabies all with in a few months.
They are going to be busy!

Update

I have not been too good about updating my blog lately. I guess maybe because I just went through holiday in a retail store, and as soon as I got off work, I was either eating, or sleeping! My blog was really not a priority! Then after Holiday, I guess I have not felt well for a few months, and have not really done a whole lot!
Ben has been doing so much for me. He makes dinner many nights, and does the dishes most days.
But I am planning on getting back on track. I have some time next week, or maybe the week after to update with some real posts, not just a teaser! So stay tuned!
