Happy Second Birthday Emily and Ana!

The girls had a really great Birthday.  Granny and GrandDad came to visit and we went to the library for story time and then came home and opened the gifts that GrandDad and Delorious got for us.
GrandDad then read the book that he gave us!  We also got to try out the rocking horse that Granny brought up for us.
The rocking horse has a special place in the Scarth Family.  It is the one that David (Bens Dad) rode when he was a little boy.
Then Ben rode it when he was little and now our girls are getting to ride on it.

It took them about a half a day to start doing crazy stunts on the horse!  But that is a different post!

Here are some pictures of my beautiful 2 year olds!

Happy Birthday to me!

Ben surprised me for my birthday and got a baby sitter!  So he came home from work and said...Lets go!
I had a birthday coupon for the Spaghetti Factory where I got my birthday dinner free, so we went there! Who wouldn't want to take advantage of a free dinner!

They put us in the trolly car and it is usually a cool place to be, but I had one night away from my twin toddlers, and they put us in the trolley car with all the toddlers and babies.

So it ended up being a pretty terrible dinner.  Not because the food was bad, but because almost every kid in there was screaming and throwing fits! It was enclosed and not a very large space.

Needless to say Ben and I's night out was not all that and a bag of chips!  But it was very nice to spend a little time with my wonderful husband!
Thank you so much Ben!  It was a wonderful surprise and I love you!

Library time with our friends

Laura and I try to get together about twice a month and we often times meet at the library.  The girls are so close in age that it is tons of fun!  Here is one of the playdates!

They were putting on a puppet show for us! Ana is in purple and Emily in pink.

Bows

My Mom got the girls these bows for their birthday since they will not be here for it.  I had put them in the laundry room to save them for their Birthday, but they were found, and put on.  So I had to take some pictures!

Sunglass Fun

I know that eye health is important, and the sun damages eyes, but also want to be as thrifty as possible, so those glasses made for toddlers that have the band kind of like swim goggles would be awesome for them, but...they cost around 30 dollars. so spending 60 dollars on toddler sunglasses just too much!  So we found these at walmart for cheap, and they are pretty sturdy.  They have been dropped, thrown, sat on, run over by the stroller and they are still good.
Over the past few months we have taken some pics with the girls in other peoples sunglasses too. Those are blurry because they were taken with phones usually in a bad lighting or bumpy truck setting!

Ana goes in the Potty!!!

Ana has been interested in the whole going potty in the toilet thing, so I decided I would start getting her used to the big girl potty.  The second day I put her on the potty she used it!!!  She has been using it every day since.  Right now, though it has just been a fun game.  We will see.

She was coloring and playing with the sticker she got for going potty.  And coloring all over her face too!

Mothers Day

Today was a good Mothers Day.  Everyday I get to spend with my whole family is nice.  The girls and I all got a cold virus so it put a small damper on things, but we had a good day regardless of that.  We took some pictures after church with the girls in our matching attire.  They were pretty irratable and tired and sick, so they arent the best of photos but we captured some!

Happy Mothers Day!

Climbers

The girls love to climb on the back of the couch and jump off to land on the cushions.  Or just hang out on the back, or the arms...It terrifies me because they almost fall off all the time.  Yet every time I try to caution them, or tell them to get down they think it is a fun game and they get more reckless.  Oh the joys of motherhood.  How do you get a toddler to understand danger before hurting themselves?  So far I have not figured it out. Shoot even when they end up hurting themselves they don't learn.  They just go right back and do it again.

Here are some pictures of the things they are doing while climbing.  Or just looking cute!

Ana sitting on the couch that they have finally mastered getting onto themselves.

cutie pie

She has learned to climb on chairs too.  I don't know why she is trying to hide that book in her pants, but pretty funny.

Yup hi Mom!

Visit to TN

My Mom and Dad were driving on to Tennessee to visit my Sister and her family and be there for when two of my nephews had special days.
So I decided to go with them.  It was a very long drive, but Mom rode with me and helped with the girls. We left in the morning about nine, and got there about 11 that night.
The girls did awesome and it was nice to have the time to spend with my Mom.  Since it was such a long drive, I decided to stay for a week.
The girls had an awesome time with their cousins and I had a good time with my Sister and her new baby.
I had a dilemma the day before I left to go, I was planning on putting the girls in disposables for the trip until one of the days at the park the week before I had to change Ana's diaper and I did not have anything but disposables with me.  So I put her in that,  Then her pants fell off....
We pretty much went from 12 month clothes to 2T because we switched to cloth diapers about the time they were in 12 month clothes.  So I didn't have any clothes that would fit them with disposable diapers...so we went ahead and took the cloth diapers and used disposables while we were on the road.
I transformed my sisters house for a few hours a day with all the diapers hanging around!  It rained for a few of the days while we were there, so I couldn't put them outside to dry.
I loved how Jarem loved to take care of the girls.  He was such a good helper.
I was planning on driving back by myself on Thursday, but the more I thought about it the less I wanted to do it.  I could have, but it would have been super hard...
So Ben and I looked online at prices of plane tickets for him to come drive with us back to Texas.  We found one that was pretty cheap, so he flew in on Saturday night and we drove back on Sunday.
He cant take off work yet since he is new, so we had to make sure he only had Sunday off!
Poor kid!
We got back to Texas late Sunday night, and we were all exhausted!
I know it is going to take me quite a while to get caught up with everything back here now that we are trying to get back into a routine!
It is amazing to me how hard it is to travel with kids!
It was worth it to get to spend more time with my parents, and with my sisters family.  I miss being able to see my family more often so I do everything I can to see them.

I took my camera and then really didn't take many pictures, but here are a few.
