Baby Shower

So the guy who owned the house before us was a landscape guy, so we have all these great trees that we dont know what are, but now that they are blooming we are figuring that out one by one!

Just a couple of things
1. I am so ready for winter to be over! I am tired of being cold, and having to dress in layers (which I don't have because I refuse to buy more maternity wear). Even while we were in Dallas, it was cold and rainy. Where is spring? My tulips, and daffodils are blooming, and freezing. I want SUN!!!
2. I got a new pillow for my big belly, and it is actually really nice. One draw back for poor Ben, it is HUGE. It takes up a good solid half of the bed without me in it. So he is hanging on to his edge of the bed for dear life. I have such a fantastic husband who is doing really great at dealing with all my pregnancy woes.
3. I am starting to have to waddle. I am so bummed about that! I really thought it would be closer to 7 months before I was doing the pregnancy waddle! It is not to severe yet, but it has started.
4. Ben and I are not sure what to do about daycare. As it looks now, Ben is going to have to resign from his job, and stay at home to take care of the girls. Which after we are into it a week or so I have a feeling we are both going to be jealous of each other. Me for the time he gets to spend with the girls, and him for the time I get out of the house.
5. Our yard is confused and thinks it is spring. It is still in the 40's most days, and our grass is green and growing. Which means it needs to be mowed, and I have to tell you I don't want to go out and mow the lawn when it is still so cold, so I am sure Ben doesn't either! And as I mentioned before, our Tulips are blooming, and our daffodils are done blooming. Why do they think it is time to grow? It is still bbrrrzzzyyy.
6. I hope that I can make it at least two more months at work. It is getting harder and harder for me everyday. But I can't imagine leaving them high and dry. But I know that I will do whatever it takes to have two healthy babies.
7. This post is like this because I could not come up with a way to make all this into an actual paragraph that made sense! And the babies are using my bladder as a punching bag so I have to do things quickly so I can get up at any time!

Texas
Our trip to Dallas was a little sooner than planned, but the doctor said if we wanted to go we had better make it in the next few weeks, so we changed our plans!
We left Kennewick really early on Sunday morning, and flew to Dallas getting there about 1ish after a delay in Salt Lake to de-ice the plane. It was all pretty normal though.
So we got our rental car, and headed to Granbury to visit some friends down there. Bens sister met us at their house, and we had a very nice dinner and a great visit. We spent the night there at our friends home, then the next day they cooked us a very nice breakfast. We headed out about noon that day to go to Bens grandparents home about an hour away. We met them for lunch, then went to their home and visited. It was really good to see them. We spent that night at their home, then had a relaxing morning and afternoon.
We headed to Keller about 3ish to get checked into our hotel and get things settled before we met with some more of Bens friends in his home town of Keller. We met them at “Babes Fried Chicken” and had dinner, then went back to their home to visit and catch up. They have two little boys who are full of spit and fire! It was a very fun evening. We got back to our hotel pretty late that night, and just hit the hay. It was a struggle to get up in time to be able to take advantage of the breakfast provided by the hotel, but we made it! After that, we packed up our stuff again, and headed to Dallas where we checked into yet another hotel, and then went to visit Bens business partner who made us lunch at his home. We met his two children and his wife, and had a fantastic lunch. It was good to meet his family, and catch up with him in person instead of just over the phone. After this we headed back to the hotel to get freshened up to go to the Lenten service at our church in Plano. It was so good to see our friends we had made there, and our Pastor who has become a friend over the last few years.
It was also just good to be back in the church we got married in with the people we have missed.
After service, we met up with some of our good friends we met while taking violin lessons, and had a late dinner. We miss both of them so much, and enjoyed the short time we had immensely. It was good to catch up, and just talk with them again.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel to crash. (I was so tired!) Then we had plans to meet up with the group of friends that Ben worked with in Dallas for lunch, so we got up again to take advantage of the hotel breakfast, then checked out and went to lunch.
It was good for Ben to see them again, and for me to see the few that I had met a few times before.
We had set up a time to visit with our Pastor for a while after we went to lunch, so we headed back to the church to see him again and visit.
After this, Ben and I headed to the JCP home office for me to stop by and visit with a few of my friends there. We were there for a while just saying hi to a lot of people!
Then it was off to Girls night! WooHoo! They surprised me with a Baby Shower, and it was so good to hang out with my girls again. I have missed them so very much, and they were very generous.
Poor Ben was looking forward to having kind of a guys night that night, and as it turned out, all his friends ended up not being able to come, so he hid out upstairs with Butch watching man movies while we had our get together downstairs!
He finally was able to hook up with Ben that night, so it was not a total loss for him!
Then I was able to stay up a little later with my bestest and catch up a little. I was a little sad that we had such limited time to be together.
We stayed the night at their home, and the next morning was opening Day of Rangers Baseball, and Ben (Bens friend) had secured two tickets to go to the game. So Ben was so excited to be able to actually go to opening day again. So it was just Laura and me for the day. Her husband was out of town. We had a great time just chatting and taking care of her new baby. (She is a doll!) We just lounged around the whole day and had a great time together. That evening I packed up and headed to our hotel room. I thought that I was actually going to get there a bit early and be able to do a bit of work before the Bens got done with the game, but they got there just a few minutes after I did. So then we went to dinner at Texas Land and Cattle (thanks Ben!) and then Ben met up with a few friends while I went back to the hotel room. Shortly after I got back, Bens parents met up with me, and we had a good conversation waiting for Ben to come back. We stayed up wayyyy past my bedtime just talking, but it was really good to see them. Then next day, we hung out with Bens parents, and met up with other Dallas friends then went over to one of their homes where we grilled and ate and talked. We had a really good time, but had to leave before we wanted to, because we had left Butch in the hotel room, and it had been long enough that we needed to go let him out, as well as we had to get up really early the next day to be able to catch our flight back to the Tri-cities. So that was it. We ended up seeing almost everyone that we wanted to be able to see, even though each visit was very short, it was so good to see our friends again. We have missed them terribly.
We were actually both pretty bummed about coming back. It seemed like a very long flight, and both of us were just physically exhausted! Once we got home, we both just laid down for a bit, and ended up falling fast asleep.
The phone rang a few hours later and woke us up. Which was good, because we still had a lot to do before the next day when we both had to go back to work.
So that was it. It was a good trip, and we are both so very glad we were able to go.
Sorry we did not get any pictures, but we did not end up with enough room for a camera…

Sleeping
I had a friend of mine suggest that I read a book. It is called "Healthy sleep habits Happy Child" by Marc Weissbluth.
I myself had issues with sleeping starting in about 2nd grade, and I had a very smart man who worked with me to help me find "tricks" to put myself to sleep. Now as an adult, I very rarely have issues with sleeping.
So I believe that sleep is a vital part of children being happy. As well as I have seen many parents I know personally struggle with thier children at bed time, as well as that tv show "the Nanny" She is always trying to fix a non sleeping child issue. So I got the book.
Now on to the book. It so far has been a very informational book (it is written by a doctor) albeit a bit textbooky, but here lies my problem. I have not been sleeping really well of late (hence me blogging at 4:30 in the morning) but mostly because I toss and turn and am uncomfortable.
So I sit down to read more of the book, and reading about sleep and the benefits of such all the sudden I am so tired I cant keep my eyes open! lol
So I have not gotten very far in fact I have had it for a week, and I am on page 14. I cant seem to stay awake while reading this book.
And I really am interested. Oh well. hopefully I can get through it before the girls come, because I have a feeling that if I don't...I wont...I will be wayyyyy to tired then.
Maybe someone else could read it and then come stand by me and transfer the contents by osmosis?

20 weeks
I don't have a ton of maternity clothes, so on my casual days I usually end up wearing mostly the same items. So my last two pics have been in the same outfit, but this is 20 weeks.

New Doctor
For the past few weeks,
I have been struggling with whether I should switch doctors or not. One of the first things I told my doctor when I met her was that I was a person that wanted to know everything she could tell me about my situation. Good and bad. That I do not get depressed over bad news, but I want to prepare for the worse situation, and hope for the best.
So what I have been struggling with is having to change doctors based on just the one fact that I wanted my doctor to be affiliated with a different hospital. There are two major hospitals around here. One has a strong neonatal unit with one that is specifically for twins and a specialist and two specialized nurses. The other one has a very small neonatal unit with no doctors or nurses that I am aware of that specialize in just that.
My doctor was affiliated with the second. So where I like my doctor, I finally made the decision that I needed to change.
So I looked around on all the websites, and spoke to quite a few people to try to find a good doctor to go to.
I finally found one that I thought would be a good choice, set up an appointment, and went through the rigmarole of getting all my current medical files from the one doctor and get them to the other doctor.
I felt pretty bad about leaving my old doctor because I really liked her. Oh well.
My first appointment with the new doctor was great. I am actually really glad that I have switched. You know how they say you don't know really what you are missing if you have never had it?
That just happens to be the case. This doctor/and staff is so much better that the last one. The doctor that I was seeing before actually did not do delivery, so her schedule was more open so I had pretty short wait times and it was easy to get in to see her. Which now I have a feeling that my wait times, and just the fact that my new doctor has surgery rotations and delivery will be harder to make appointments.
But the care, and thoroughness that I got from my new doctor and staff was amazing.
So sometimes hard decisions turn out to be really good ones. I am very glad that I was strong and made a hard choice.
Not only that, I am now better prepared for a bad situation should one arise. That makes me more confident and calm.
But as always I am hoping and praying for the best situation possible! And I have faith that whatever will come will come.

Pills
For the past almost decade I have really tried to remove all "pills" from my life. I stopped relying on naproxen, ibuprofen and such for aches and pains, and started relying on essential oils and more natural remedies like massage.
Plus I really hate taking pills. They make me gag!
So now that I am pregnant, I have to take 2 in the morning, and 3 + a powder I mix in water that tastes like elmers glue at night. And not these little Advil tablet like pills, no these are freakin horse pills.
Granted they are not really "pills" they are vitamins, but it is really odd to have to remember to take something morning and night. Especially since I tried so very hard to not take anything for so many years!
Plus once again the whole gag thing. :)

Dallas or Bust
Well, we finally worked it out that we will be able to go to Dallas. I had to change my Vacation once more(this has been a bit of a hassle). But we asked the doctor if I could travel the last week of April, and she said she would not recommend it. So we nixed that, but really wanted to be able to visit before the babies come.
So we worked it out that we can go the last week of March instead. I will be under 24 weeks at that point, so still ok to travel with Twins. They get leary about 24 weeks with twins. So we have purchased our tickets. which by the way, I was going to get the insurance just in case, and I read the disclaimers to ensure it covered pregnacy complications. Nope. It doesn't. So I am glad I read it. It would have been wasted if I actually had a problem and could not go they would not have covered it.
The rental car is booked, and we are set. So all yall in Dallas, we are coming!

Names
So the ultrasound tech is positive one of our babies is a girl, but the other baby was moving around like crazy, and she had a really hard time getting a look. She said she thinks it is a girl.
So if we end up with two girls, the names we have picked out are
Emily Viola, and Ana Elise.
And if that one baby turns out to in fact be a boy, we are still working out names for Boys.
We have about 5 boy names that we are struggling through. The girl names were easy...maybe it is a sign!
