Today at work I was surprised with the management team throwing me a baby shower. I work with some great people. First, they kept it a surprise which in a retail store is NOT easy. Second, they were very generous, especially in such times as these.
I was given a baby stroller for twins, 2 car seats, and many other baby items; Homemade hooded towels, homemade receiving blankets, clothes, blankets, a diaper bag, gift cards, a monitor.
I feel so incredibly blessed to have such a great group of people that I work with. It puts my mind at ease that I now have most of the essentials.
So now with the craigslisting that Ben and I have done and gifts from awesome people, we have both cribs and mattresses, the bumper/bedding sets for both cribs, a nice big changing table/dresser with lots of drawers, a baby bathtub, a double stroller, 2 car seats, a pack and play, baby clothes, blankets, bath stuff. All of this has been incredible.
We still have more to get (it seems the list actually never gets smaller!) but with the generosity of others, I think I can breathe a little easier. We have some quite spendy things that I think we can now scrape together money for which before we were quite worried!
Now we have to get the nursery started. It is going to be a big job, and we have been slow at getting started. But it is getting that time.

The Girls
We went in for another "growth" ultrasound today, and once again have a few things that have changed.
First - They found two placenta's, (apperantly they are right next to one another, so easy to miss) so we are back to having either di/di identical twins, or fraternal. If the girls look alike, we may never know. If they do not look alike, we will know!
That is a bit of a relief to me. mono/di twins are kind of scary.
Second - They are growing within the normal boundries. One is within the 50% ranking, and the other one in the 44% ranking. The little smaller one is B, and poor little girl has a squished head. Instead of round it is quite oval. It has to do with her position in the womb, and the Dr. said it was not anything to worry about.
We also got some of those kind of creepy looking photos from the ultrasound. At this new place, they do not let you record the ultrasound, so we only have the pictures that they printed for us. Which I then took a picture of with my phone, so the quality is a bit off.

Hmmmm
Seems like each new day brings along new friends!
My newest friend is Mr. Heartburn. I have been pretty lucky so far to have only had Mr. Heartburn visit occasionally. Usually when I did not eat soon enough, but I think he has decided he likes me, and wants to now hang around!
I finally broke down and bought some tums since I have not in the past had real heartburn issues, I did not have any remedies. I am hoping that tonight I can sleep. I may have to start sleeping sitting up somewhere if this continues!
These girls are just getting big enough that I think my stomach is getting pushed up enough that the esophagus and stomach are kind of squished which makes it easier for Mr. Heartburn to linger around!
But at 25 weeks and counting I will put up with a lot to keep these girls where they need to be for a few more months! I can't say I won't complain, but I will try to keep it to a minimum! Especially since I have been blessed so far with health!

Happy Easter
Happy Easter to all. It was a great day today for Ben and I. We got up and made blueberry pancakes and eggs for breakfast, went to church, then came home...made grilled cheese sandwiches and cucumber/tomato salad, then just relaxed. He watched baseball, while I napped. Then a nice couple from church had invited us over for Easter dinner, so we had some rolls rising during our relaxation time, we popped them in the oven then went to dinner. It was a great dinner, and they are a great family. We had good conversation, and good food. Now we are home, and I will be going to bed very soon! I hope all had a very Happy Easter.

Craigslisting
So we have been trying to save money while trying to still get all the things that we need for these girls.
We decided to get on Craigslist and see what we could find. We have done pretty well over the last week or so.
We have gotten a glider rocker with ottoman, a Crib and matching changing table/dresser, quite a bit of clothing, a baby bathtub, and some peace of mind that we are not definitely going to go broke just getting ready!
My best Friend and her husband got us our pack and play bassinet combo. That was so cool of them, so now all we need is....ok still too much to write down, but we will get there!
We also have been really trying to figure out what to do about our laundry situation. We have a washer and dryer set that are getting pretty old, and we are not sure with the volume of laundry that will be going through if they are going to last much longer. The dryer is already having problems that is showing its age...
So we decided that we would take the rest of the money left from my bonus (we spent most of it going to Dallas one last time before the girls come!) and buy a new washer and dryer set. We looked on the Internet, went to every store in the area that sold appliances, and we ended up with the best deal we could find!
So we got a new washer and dryer coming this Saturday. Now maybe we can sell our stuff on Craigslist and make a little bit of money. Unless any of you know someone who desperately needs a washer and dryer.
It is starting to get pretty real that we are going to have two little new people in our lives, and they are going to be our priority now. We are both getting pretty excited and nervous and pray all the time that we will be what the girls need.
The next step now is to not have them come too early. We are being very careful to make sure that they stay where they need to for the next few months! I may be taking off of work earlier than I planned, and it makes me nervous, but it will all turn out ok in the end!

Dentist
Butch had to go to the vet dentist this week, and they put him under while they cleaned his teeth. I think they did it fairly late in the day, because when I went to pick him up he was still pretty out from the anesthesia. When we got him home he was in sorry shape. He was so drugged that he could not walk strait, he couldn't sleep cuz he was a little sick from the drugs. I was a little worried to go to bed, because I could see him trying to walk around, and walking or falling right off the bed.
He did end up on the floor once, and we don't know how he got there, but he ended up being fine. And now he has clean sparkly teeth!

Baby Shower
This was such a good idea. I have very creative friends.
This was one of the gifts from the baby shower my friends in Texas threw.
They are Onsies, little wash clothes, socks, and those types of things all rolled up to look like little flowers. It was so cute.

So the guy who owned the house before us was a landscape guy, so we have all these great trees that we dont know what are, but now that they are blooming we are figuring that out one by one!

Just a couple of things
1. I am so ready for winter to be over! I am tired of being cold, and having to dress in layers (which I don't have because I refuse to buy more maternity wear). Even while we were in Dallas, it was cold and rainy. Where is spring? My tulips, and daffodils are blooming, and freezing. I want SUN!!!
2. I got a new pillow for my big belly, and it is actually really nice. One draw back for poor Ben, it is HUGE. It takes up a good solid half of the bed without me in it. So he is hanging on to his edge of the bed for dear life. I have such a fantastic husband who is doing really great at dealing with all my pregnancy woes.
3. I am starting to have to waddle. I am so bummed about that! I really thought it would be closer to 7 months before I was doing the pregnancy waddle! It is not to severe yet, but it has started.
4. Ben and I are not sure what to do about daycare. As it looks now, Ben is going to have to resign from his job, and stay at home to take care of the girls. Which after we are into it a week or so I have a feeling we are both going to be jealous of each other. Me for the time he gets to spend with the girls, and him for the time I get out of the house.
5. Our yard is confused and thinks it is spring. It is still in the 40's most days, and our grass is green and growing. Which means it needs to be mowed, and I have to tell you I don't want to go out and mow the lawn when it is still so cold, so I am sure Ben doesn't either! And as I mentioned before, our Tulips are blooming, and our daffodils are done blooming. Why do they think it is time to grow? It is still bbrrrzzzyyy.
6. I hope that I can make it at least two more months at work. It is getting harder and harder for me everyday. But I can't imagine leaving them high and dry. But I know that I will do whatever it takes to have two healthy babies.
7. This post is like this because I could not come up with a way to make all this into an actual paragraph that made sense! And the babies are using my bladder as a punching bag so I have to do things quickly so I can get up at any time!

Texas
Our trip to Dallas was a little sooner than planned, but the doctor said if we wanted to go we had better make it in the next few weeks, so we changed our plans!
We left Kennewick really early on Sunday morning, and flew to Dallas getting there about 1ish after a delay in Salt Lake to de-ice the plane. It was all pretty normal though.
So we got our rental car, and headed to Granbury to visit some friends down there. Bens sister met us at their house, and we had a very nice dinner and a great visit. We spent the night there at our friends home, then the next day they cooked us a very nice breakfast. We headed out about noon that day to go to Bens grandparents home about an hour away. We met them for lunch, then went to their home and visited. It was really good to see them. We spent that night at their home, then had a relaxing morning and afternoon.
We headed to Keller about 3ish to get checked into our hotel and get things settled before we met with some more of Bens friends in his home town of Keller. We met them at “Babes Fried Chicken” and had dinner, then went back to their home to visit and catch up. They have two little boys who are full of spit and fire! It was a very fun evening. We got back to our hotel pretty late that night, and just hit the hay. It was a struggle to get up in time to be able to take advantage of the breakfast provided by the hotel, but we made it! After that, we packed up our stuff again, and headed to Dallas where we checked into yet another hotel, and then went to visit Bens business partner who made us lunch at his home. We met his two children and his wife, and had a fantastic lunch. It was good to meet his family, and catch up with him in person instead of just over the phone. After this we headed back to the hotel to get freshened up to go to the Lenten service at our church in Plano. It was so good to see our friends we had made there, and our Pastor who has become a friend over the last few years.
It was also just good to be back in the church we got married in with the people we have missed.
After service, we met up with some of our good friends we met while taking violin lessons, and had a late dinner. We miss both of them so much, and enjoyed the short time we had immensely. It was good to catch up, and just talk with them again.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel to crash. (I was so tired!) Then we had plans to meet up with the group of friends that Ben worked with in Dallas for lunch, so we got up again to take advantage of the hotel breakfast, then checked out and went to lunch.
It was good for Ben to see them again, and for me to see the few that I had met a few times before.
We had set up a time to visit with our Pastor for a while after we went to lunch, so we headed back to the church to see him again and visit.
After this, Ben and I headed to the JCP home office for me to stop by and visit with a few of my friends there. We were there for a while just saying hi to a lot of people!
Then it was off to Girls night! WooHoo! They surprised me with a Baby Shower, and it was so good to hang out with my girls again. I have missed them so very much, and they were very generous.
Poor Ben was looking forward to having kind of a guys night that night, and as it turned out, all his friends ended up not being able to come, so he hid out upstairs with Butch watching man movies while we had our get together downstairs!
He finally was able to hook up with Ben that night, so it was not a total loss for him!
Then I was able to stay up a little later with my bestest and catch up a little. I was a little sad that we had such limited time to be together.
We stayed the night at their home, and the next morning was opening Day of Rangers Baseball, and Ben (Bens friend) had secured two tickets to go to the game. So Ben was so excited to be able to actually go to opening day again. So it was just Laura and me for the day. Her husband was out of town. We had a great time just chatting and taking care of her new baby. (She is a doll!) We just lounged around the whole day and had a great time together. That evening I packed up and headed to our hotel room. I thought that I was actually going to get there a bit early and be able to do a bit of work before the Bens got done with the game, but they got there just a few minutes after I did. So then we went to dinner at Texas Land and Cattle (thanks Ben!) and then Ben met up with a few friends while I went back to the hotel room. Shortly after I got back, Bens parents met up with me, and we had a good conversation waiting for Ben to come back. We stayed up wayyyy past my bedtime just talking, but it was really good to see them. Then next day, we hung out with Bens parents, and met up with other Dallas friends then went over to one of their homes where we grilled and ate and talked. We had a really good time, but had to leave before we wanted to, because we had left Butch in the hotel room, and it had been long enough that we needed to go let him out, as well as we had to get up really early the next day to be able to catch our flight back to the Tri-cities. So that was it. We ended up seeing almost everyone that we wanted to be able to see, even though each visit was very short, it was so good to see our friends again. We have missed them terribly.
We were actually both pretty bummed about coming back. It seemed like a very long flight, and both of us were just physically exhausted! Once we got home, we both just laid down for a bit, and ended up falling fast asleep.
The phone rang a few hours later and woke us up. Which was good, because we still had a lot to do before the next day when we both had to go back to work.
So that was it. It was a good trip, and we are both so very glad we were able to go.
